- Notebooks & Stationery Seva by the Sadhu Vaswani Mission
12th & 19th July 2022 - Heavy rains, difficult terrain, and a long distance to go… Is it worth going all the way? The answer is a big loud YES! After all, little children of a tiny village, in a distant school were eagerly waiting for their new books, new stationery, for their all new academic year! 12th July, in the early hours of the morning, 8 volunteers braving the torrential rains set out on their onward journey to the remote villages in Saswad, Purandar Taluka. Driving 3 vans all loaded with notebooks and stationery, the volunteers steadily and cautiously drove all the way to the village where the hopeful children were waiting. “We reached the designated school and our eyes met with the little ones. There was curiosity, excitement, and a visible enthusiasm. Not wasting time, we immediately unloaded the vans. The children were queued up and one by one came and collected their notebook and stationery sets,” said a volunteer. “It was endearing to watch them check their sets and show them to their teachers. And once the school bell rang and they made their journey to their homes, one thing was for sure, they would return the next day with a renewed vigour and interest to study, learn and grow.” added the volunteer. Sadhu Vaswani Mission’s endeavour, with the help of kind supporters, is to reach out to as many students as possible studying in remote rural schools and provide them with the basic necessities of books and stationery. On this day, 1401 notebook and stationery sets were distributed to primary students and 312 notebook and stationery sets were distributed to secondary students. The seva was conducted at 4 locations (Garade, Bopgaon, Chambali and Dive) where school children from 50 nearby villages were brought together for the distribution. In continuance of the notebooks and stationery distribution sevas to poor and needy children, we organised another distribution drive on 19th July 2022. The dawn was filled with enthusiasm and activity at the Mission. Despite frequent trips for the notebook and stationery sevas, the zeal of the volunteers was intact. If anything, they were thoroughly excited to once again meet children who were eagerly waiting for their shiny new stationery sets and brand new notebooks! 3 vans and 8 volunteers with a ‘jo bole so nihal, sat sri akal!” set out on their journey to Saswad in Purandar Taluka. The seva was carried out at 5 locations. Each location had a school designated as the distribution centre. Children from 60 villages gathered at their nearest school to collect their notebooks and stationery sets. “The excitement of the children drives our enthusiasm for the sevas! The very fact that a stationery and notebook set can bring them back to school, and give them the opportunity to complete their education is more than enough of an inspiration for us to keep going. It encourages us to carry out more such distributions!” continued the volunteer. “What’s more! One must not miss how all the little ones gave a shoutout of ‘Thank You, Dada! and Dada Shyam!’ It is indeed a gratitude to the Master who helps us reach out to the remotest schools where little children are eager to learn and grow,” added the volunteer. On this day, the Mission distributed 1098 notebooks and stationery sets to primary and secondary children. The seva was conducted at 5 locations (Yadavwadi, Parinche, Mahoor, Veer, and Pargaon) where children from 60 nearby villages were brought together under local schools for distribution.

- Warkaris at Sadhu Vaswani Mission Pune
Warkaris pay obeisance at Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Pune on their way to Pandharpur The strings of the tambura struck, and the hand cymbals came together, and echoed aloud the chants of ‘Vitthal Vitthal Sri Hari Vitthal’! Finally, after a 2-year pandemic wait, the dearest devotees of the Lord arrived at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission! The spirit, energy, and enthusiasm of the warkari’s was so love-filled that everyone present was immersed in the ecstatic chanting! 23rd June 2022, the Mission was brimming with their presence. As they entered the Mission premises, they were ushered to the Sacred Kutiya where they were requested to light the lamp before the portrait of the Masters. Following the aarti, in their most melodious, folk voice they sang abhangs – devotional poetry praising Lord Vitthala. The atmosphere was indescribable. They concluded the session with the singing of the pasaydan prayer. Didi Krishna Kumari, who was present throughout the session, served prasad to the warkaris that included food items that can be consumed during the holy fast. What came next was a sight to behold! Right from the Sacred Kutiya they made formations and performed their traditional dance all the way to the Sacred Samadhi of the Great Masters – Gurudev Sadhu Vaswani and Revered Dada J.P. Vaswani. Here, they offered their loving homage. The warkaris visit also brought back fond memories between them and Revered Dada. On one such annual Pandharpur Wari, Revered Dada mentioned how his Guru had taught him to not be a Bhakta, but a bhakta of the bhaktas, servant of the Bhaktas and he had said, “You all are bhaktas and I bow down to each one of you. Bhakti is the soul of India and may the Warkaris grow and inspire more and more on the path of devotion.” Indeed, this annual warkari tradition has kept alive the essence of bhakti, of spirituality. As the warkaris took their leave and headed onward to their Yatra to Pandharpur, devotees bowed down in reverence with a promise to meet again next year. Next day, our youth group of Sadhu Vaswani Mission served them with banana, chikki, biscuits and ladoos as they left Pune. - New Building at Sadhu Vaswani Manjri school
21st June 2022 was a special day for the Manjri Village – located on the outskirts of Pune City. Today, the village was blessed with a gift that only grows with time – an international school that promises excellence in education coupled with excellence in character. Sadhu Vaswani Mission, with the beginning of the academic year 2022-23, held the inauguration of a new block at the Sadhu Vaswani Gurukul, Manjri. The inaugural was done on 21st June 2022 with havan, prayers, kirtan in the presence of Didi Krishna Kumari, Dr. Manju Nichani, Ruby Karna, Mission officials, school staff and volunteers. The newly admitted children and their parents also attended and partook in the blessings of the sacred ceremony. The grades that the school will cater to in the current academic year include Nursery to Class 4th. A total of 300 students are enrolled in the school. Dr. Manju Nichani, Executive Director, Sadhu Vaswani Gurukul Manjri, in the welcome address said, “It was Beloved Dada’s dream that every village should be rejuvenated, should become an ideal village and by it, he meant that the village should keep its culture alive, stay connected to its roots. Therefore, we endeavour to educate the children to keep them at par with the modern world and yet help them remain connected to the roots of their village. Manjri is the first school started in a village during the lifetime of Beloved Dada and in adherence to his ideals, we aspire to give them the right education where we educate the head, hand, and the heart.” This was followed by Didi Krishna Kumari’s short talk wherein she said, “Gurudev Sadhu Vaswani, whenever a school would be inaugurated, would say, ‘a child is born today’. In a family, when a child is born he becomes the source of happiness, the centre of focus for everyone in the family. Today, it’s the same for us. This school, Sadhu Vaswani International School, Manjri, is being started with immense hope. We believe that education must teach one to lead a life. Unless one knows to lead a good life, he/she cannot experience true success. one may have lots of money and have the highest position but true success is when one has peace of mind and knows to be steady in the storms of life. This is the purpose of the school; to awaken the inner shakti within each child so that they may experience true success. Another essential aspect is to inculcate the attitude of service in them so that they learn to give.” She concluded her address by urging the teachers to take this responsibility in their stride and live by the ideals of the Masters “for children”, she said, “are great imitators and they emulate what we do more than what we say.”

- USA road named after Dada!
14th May 2022, was a historic day. In homage to the Great Saint, Dada J.P. Vaswani, a pathway named after him – Rev. Dada Vaswani Way was inaugurated in Secaucus, New Jersey. In her message, she said, “Dada loved to remain unseen. He did not want his glories to be sung, he didn’t keep any personal diary in which he would share his experiences, nor did he note down in his diary any of his accolades or achievements. His values were indeed different. Today, we share every action that we perform on social media. But here was a person who wished to live a hidden life in the hidden god. Therefore, we have all gathered here today to honour him. Of course, he needs no honour and the only way we can honour him is to walk the way he showed each one of us. He did not walk the way but he lived the way. His life was a living testimony; he was a living embodiment of all the ideals he wanted us to imbibe. He did not preach; he practised.” Concluding, Didi Krishna said, “I pray that whosoever crosses this path is blessed with true joy, true peace, and a true sense of fellowship that we regard each other, nature, and all creation, as the image of God.” In reference to Mayor Gonneli, a devotee mentioned, “Dada would call him an angel. A few years ago, he was sick but recovered well. To this day he says that the only reason I got out of this is because Dada was praying for me.” “It is a proud moment for India that a road in the USA is being named after an Indian Saint,” said a spectator. The street, Rev. Dada Vaswani Way is located in the neighbourhood that passes through the Meadowlands Parkway towards the Secaucus Animal Shelter. - Bhoomi Puja for Dada JP Vaswani's Samadhi

The Mission organized the Bhoomi Puja of the Sacred Samadhi of Dada J.P. Vaswani. It will be built on the premises of the Mission, in the same spot where his sacred pyre was lit. The samadhi will be adjacent to Sadhu Vaswani's samadhi, his Master. A model of the unique design planned for the Sacred Samadhi was also displayed. Didi Krishna in her talk said, “The word Samadhi means union with God. Every single moment of Beloved Dada’s life was spent in Samadhi. His every thought, every action emerged from oneness. We once asked Beloved Dada, “What should we do to experience this oneness with the divine?” In response, he gave us three ideals. The first was purity of heart, the second unwavering faith, and the third love for God and his creation. We all wish that our lives too should culminate in this union.” An unveiling of the model of the Sacred Samadhi was done at the hands of Dr. K.H. Sancheti, Founder, Sancheti Hospital. The architect, Reza Kabul, who created the masterpiece design, was also felicitated. 12:45 PM the auspicious ceremony of Bhoomi Puja was performed with the breaking of the coconut and amid resounding chants, the sacred work began. In the evening, another satsang session was held featuring the discourse of revered Dada. The Mission, abiding by the tenets of the Masters, believes that no occasion is complete without a service activity. - Sarees to Red Light & Transgenders
Sadhu Vaswani Mission, marking the Thanksgiving Week (18-22 February), initiated a seva to bring joy and happiness to the lives of the sisters from the red light area and the often neglected transgender community. Starting 18th February 2022, volunteers of the Mission with the sole aspiration of bringing smiles to the sisters and transgenders packed and carried brand new sarees singing and chanting the shukrana anthem. What a tone it added to the sevas! As soon as the women gathered at the distribution location, they had another surprise waiting for them – they could pick a saree of their choice! “It was a wonderful sight! We saw the difference that the sheer idea of choosing what one likes and not merely receiving what is given makes it so beautiful!” shared a volunteer. Another volunteer shared a thoughtful reminder observation, “These are people who have been shunned from society; they are left to fend for themselves with limited options. Despite their situation, they are happy amongst themselves, they are cheerful and filled with life and vigour. It’s definitely something to learn from.” “The prejudice in society will take time to go. In the meanwhile we are doing our best to bring a little hope to them,” he added.
