Sadhu Vaswani Mission as it continued celebrations of Sadhu Vaswani’s birthday throughout the month of November, organised a bal mela for about a thousand students of Zilla Parishad Prathamic Shala Marunji and a few others who had been brought by the Mission to the school grounds. We’ll be waiting… Come back soon…” And the volunteers promised back saying, “Dada will bring us back to you…”

In honour of Sadhu Vaswani’s 139th birthday celebrations, the ‘Rath Yatra,’ walked through the lanes of Pune as devotees and citizens were enthralled by the life-like portrait of Rev. Dada J. P. The procession made its way through the Sadhu Vaswani Chowk, Poona Club, Quarter Gate, Pudumjee Compound and M. G. Road. At one of the halts, Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani’s talk was played in which he spoke of gathering wealth of the soul, not the body. And that is through service & remembrance of the Lord. At another halt, Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani’s recorded audio-visual, was played in which he said, "Are you aware of the atrocities perpetuated on animals day after day? Are you aware, that thousands of big and small animals, daily are made into food for man? Life is as precious to these animals and birds as it is to all of us. The time has come when this murder of birds and animals has to be stopped. It is the prime right of every living creature to breathe the breath of life. Then how can we deprive these animals and birds of this innate right? Can we bring to life a dead animal? If not, then we have no right to take away the life of a living one.” At MG Road a lovely sound and light show was organized. The ‘Rath Yatra’ halted at several spots wherein it was welcomed with banners, lights and altars paying homage to the two Masters. The procession included decorated floats and balloons with messages like, ‘Be Strong! Be Vegetarian!’ 'jeeyo aur jeene do'. Children and hordes of devotees singing bhajans and kirtans of ‘Dada Shyam’ added grandeur to the procession. One of the participants said, “Dada is with us in spirit. Yes it is different this year but I know he is watching over us. We love him and want him at all times. The Meatless Day is a noble cause, a great message which needs to be spread. It’s a message of peace that has to be taken to all.” Corporator Arvind Shinde said, “I have been a part of the rath yatra since I was a kid. Dadaji served all the people. If I were to tell in two words what this yatra means to me, it’s graceful and peaceful.” The Rath Yatra is an annual pilgrim-procession since 1966 in the city of Pune, providing an opportunity for the denizens of Pune to pay homage to a great soul of Pune, Sadhu Vaswani, and for all of them and their homes to receive his benedictions. The specially constructed ‘Rath’ or chariot is designed by the world-renowned Mr. Dilip Chabbria, better known as D.C. It is designed like a space-ship, representing the cyber-age and space-age. This Rath Yatra left an indelible imprint on many hearts. Quote by Sadhu T. L. Vaswani - “If, indeed, Life is One, is not the animal, too, my brother? And am I not his keeper?”

The session began with mellifluous bhajans and kirtans to the glory of the Guru. The satsang hall of the Mission was brimming with divinity as devotees from all quarters of the city joined in to mark the celebrations. The commemorations followed on with a recorded upadesh of Rev. Dada J. P. Vaswani. He spoke of the virtues and the ideals that Sri Guru Nanak bore witness to and how he was a true messenger of God. Rev. Dada then spoke of the modikhana wherein proceeds from purchase of groceries would be utilised for the poor and hungry. Thus, it was time for the modikhana in the Mission. A total of Rs. 206,200 of groceries were purchased by the devotees and offered for the poor at Modikhana. “The concept of modikhana is an honest attempt to serve the hungry. There are so many who cannot afford one square meal a day. To them, this is a blessing,” said Sonia Shahani. “I say this is a great idea wherein everyone gets the opportunity to contribute,” said Deepti Ajwani. Finally, with the rendition of kirtan, the celebrations came to an end and all devotees partook in guru langar- fellowship meals. “The Guru langar was true to a traditional Sindhi meal but the difference was it comes from Dada. The service and seva is going on as it would when Dada was physically present. He lives on through the many acts of service, seva, the langar prasad and his teachings,” said Chandru Gurnani.
- Hum Sab Ek Hain Peace Rally - 22nd November, 2018
In connection with Sadhu Vaswani’s 139th birthday celebrations, the annual ‘Peace Rally’ organised by the Sadhu Vaswani Mission was held in the city of Pune on Thursday, 22nd November 2018 at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission grounds at 9AM. About 3400 students gathered to join in the Peace Rally. These were from the participating schools and colleges that support the cause of going meatless on the 25th of November. The schools that took part included St. Helena’s School, A.W. Sindhu Vidya Bhawan, D.Y. Patil International School, G.K. Gurukul, Mother Theresa School, Poona College among many others along with the hosting schools St. Mira’s Primary & Secondary School and Sadhu Vaswani International School, Pradhikaran. The students were engaged throughout the event with games, activities, performances and audio-visual presentations. All revolved around the ideology of Sadhu Vaswani who believed and lived the adage, ‘Reverence for All Life’. A dance performance on the benefits of vegetarianism with cartoon character, Chota Bheem, Chutki and Krishna had the students rapt in attention. Renditions by Shashank Ombhase, especially, ‘hum sab ek hain’ had the students joining in enthusiastically. The audio-visuals on the life and teachings of Sadhu Vaswani was another highlight of the occasion. This was followed by a short-film on the idea of ‘oneness of life and creation’; it was a truly moving and thought provoking feature presentation. Finally, the much awaited segment, a recorded Questions and Answers Session with Rev. Dada J. P. Vaswani was presented. It was insightful with Dada answering many doubts of students. His concluding message emphasised on living an uncorrupt, honest and truthful life. The event ended with the students pledging to go meatless and revere every form of life. “I pledge to go veg on the 25th of November. I will also convince my family to go meatless this 25th,” said Ananya from St. Helenas School. Tulika a teacher from D. Y. Patil International School remarked, "We consider ourselves and the students fortunate to be a part of this noble Peace Rally. This is an awakening to the students concerning animal cruelty, animal rights and the idea of peace and reverence for all life. It is important that the students learn and adapt the message of love and compassion at an early age.” Another inspiring incident was that of a school girl, who chose to be anonymous. She had asked Dada, the last year what she should do when she has the urge to eat meat. To which Dada had said that birds and animals are our brothers and sisters, how would you feel if one of your brother went out and never returned home. She said, that statement awakened something with her and although she had promised to give up meat for a year, she has still continued to be a vegetarian. Did you know? If India went vegetarian just for one day, 20 crore animals will be saved from the gallows of death. 20 crore animals will get to live. Is it not a reason enough, we go veg for a day? Live and let live.

- Sp Leaders release Dadas book at Parliament of World's Religions, Toronto
A one hour program, ‘Reality of Realization’ in the honour and tribute to Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani was organized at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Toronto, Canada on 4th November, 2018. It featured the launch of Rev. Dada J. P. Vaswani’s book - Alphabets of Good Life. Present at the program were HH Swami Chidanand Saraswati, Audrey Kitigawa, Jonathan Granoff, Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, HH Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni, HH Sadguru Brahmeshanandacharya Swami & Satish Daryanani. Audrey Kitagawa, Chair-Elect of the Next Parliament of the World’s Religions, invoked the Gayatri Mantra as the Mantra of Enlightenment to commence the session. H.H. Swami Chidanand Saraswati invoked the Divine Light on the gathering. The lights of the hall flickered as if to signal Rev. Dada’s presence. The rapt-in-attention audience listened with eagerness and anticipation to the video message from Sister Krishna Kumari, Working Chairperson of Sadhu Vaswani Mission. She recounted the legacy of Rev. Dada, summing up, “He sowed seeds of sympathy which will provide succour and shade to thousands as time passes by. He sang the song of unity which will grow into a symphony and unite thousands and millions of hearts to the rhythm of the one life.” The eyes of those who knew Dada filled in loving remembrance, as the others discovered the beauty of his life for the first time. Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, was seen overwhelmed and overcome with emotion soon after the playing of the video. “Dada was both a mirror and a window,” she said. “He showed you who you are. As you looked at yourself through Dada’s eyes, you experience a “You” that you may never experience any other time. He actually saw, in all, the Divine. And if you had the courage to keep your eyes open, you could see yourself in His eyes. As he aged, the experience shifted from him becoming a window from a mirror. He was a window frame. There was nothing between you and the Divine. He was a window frame through which you could see everything. He was that light. He is that light. These are not tears of loss. These are tears of Wow! He’s here. The shape of the window frame has changed, but He’s here!” Audrey Kitagawa shared, “When I first met him, I saw the radiant light of the Divine. The tears that came to my eyes were to be in the joy of being in his presence again. When you were in the radiance of his presence, you were completely humbled by the humility that was in him. Being in that radiance is transformative. He quietly transmitted that radiance to all.” HH Swami Chidanand Saraswati said, “When I met him for the last time, he insisted that he see me off in his wheelchair, despite my requests. What humility! Whoever went to see him became transformed. When I was a child in the jungle, I saw those ascetics in the jungle in and around the trees, but Dada, not living in the caves, could maintain and manifest that Divinity, that purity, that serenity. Jungles are great - you can maintain yourself in isolation but in the real world there are real challenges, and Dada still maintained and manifested.” Jonathan Granoff said, “The Smithsonian was putting together a conference on Sufism and I called Dada. He said how did you know I’m a Sufi? He was empty of the “I”. All the great masters are about is that they’re all One.” HH Sadguru Brahmeshanandacharya Swami said that he had the unique experience of meeting Dada in Goa, his home state. He also regaled Dada as a realized soul whose life served to better humanity. HH Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni shared his thoughts on Dada saying, “Lord Mahavir has said that he who is as pure and humble as a child is the realized One!” I believe Dada was just such an example and stood as tall as the Himalayas in His example.” Satish Daryanani recounted how he requested Dada to write this book which encapsulates so many of his exemplary life’s lessons in an easy-to-read format - from how to deal with anger and anxiety through achieving world peace and true yoga. All the dignitaries on the stage jointly released Rev. Dada’s book, a coffee table masterpiece representing 100 years of Rev.
