Global Connect online: Sadhu Vaswani LIVE Satsangs

Updated: Oct 24, 2020

Satsang is like the lamp that lights our way through the darkness of our life on earth.

— Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani

Nations and lives have abruptly come to a standstill. The unbridled pandemic of Corona virus has compelled everyone across the globe to be confined to their homes. While government directives and social obligations called for immediate closure of congregations, Sadhu Vaswani Mission undertook swift steps to shift the daily satsangs to an online platform. With this, the Mission has taken its spiritual efforts global. ‘Online Global Satsangs’ is a new norm that the Mission has adopted to relay the message of the Great Masters — Gurudev Sadhu Vaswani and Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani on the Mission's official YouTube channel - svmission.

Beginning 21st March 2020, the first ‘Global Satsang’ by the Sadhu Vaswani Mission was aired on YouTube LIVE. Since then, every Thursday, Guruvaar with Gurudev, and every Sunday, online virtual satsangs are held. Satsangs on major occasions such as Cheti Chand, Ram Navmi, Buddha Purnima, Monthly sacred 12th/13th are also held online. Rest of the weekdays, Sadhu Vaswani satsangs are held by the Mumbai Center on their official YouTube channel. Sadhu Vaswani Satsangs are thus held on a daily basis.

Joining these efforts are centres across the globe, particularly Panama, Jakarta, Singapore, Accra, London and St Maarten which are holding LIVE satsangs according to their time zones.

‘Tranquil Tuesdays’ and Guided Meditations of Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani are also held LIVE on YouTube. The Mission has also relayed ‘Guided Meditations’ — ‘Hotline to God’ and ‘Let Thy Will Always Be Done’ by Didi Krishna Kumari on YouTube. Tranquil Tuesdays is a trendy mix of kirtan and guided meditation. The sessions featured guest singers and received rave reviews on YouTube LIVE.

In a timely initiative, Sadhu Vaswani Mission also held Global Prayer Meets and chants on Instagram LIVE led by Didi Krishna Kumari. These were based on universal mantras — ‘asato ma satgamaya’, ‘Om’, ‘Mahamantra — “Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama, Rama, Hare, Hare; Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Hare, Hare,” amongst others for 21 times. The sessions featured singers including Ameya Dabli, Divya Ahuja, Reshma Mirchandani, Seema Ramchandani. The initiative themed as ‘Restoring Health, Happiness and Peace in the World’, was relayed for a week starting 26th March 2020 to 2nd April 2020,  through the Instagram handle @bridgebuilders.pune of Bridge Builders, Pune — the youth wing of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission.

People from all over the globe join with the same spirit of devotion from the comfort of their homes and at the convenience of their time zones. Acclaimed singers from different countries put in their devotional offerings to bring fervour to the online satsangs. The chanting of the Name Divine illumines hearts and homes with love and solace. Gurudev Sadhu Vaswani & Dada J.P. Vaswani’s talks strengthen the faith.

“Everything comes with a positive side. With regard to coronavirus, I believe, it has brought to our homes the touchstone of the Mission — satsang. I am deeply grateful,” said Ratan.

While Shobha, another viewer remarked, “The online satsangs make me feel that I am transported to the Pune Mission.”
