August 2nd was a day of celebration and jubilation at Sadhu Vaswani International School, Hyderabad. The students, teachers and the Sadhu Vaswani Center, Hyderabad members got together to celebrate the 94th birthday of their beloved Guru, Rev. Dada J. P. Vaswani.

The students had made birthday cards for their Beloved Dadaji and they were displayed outside the Sanctuary Hall.

The day started in the Sanctuary Hall with the chanting of the mantras and the thought for the day. The choir sang a song wishing Rev. Dada a very Happy Birthday. The students of Class 5 enacted a scene from the life of Rev. Dada as a small child. It was the time when he wanted a toy train and he kept collecting money for it. He would go everyday to the shop to ask the price and every day the shop keeper would tell him that it cost one rupee.

On his birthday, his mother gave him a rupee and he bought the toy train. But when he approached the shop; his excitement was dampened as there sat a beggar woman with a child who hadn’t eaten for days and was sick. She begged him for a rupee to save the child. The boy Jashan looked at the train and the sick child and he gladly sacrificed the toy train and gave away the coin to the wailing mother. Such was the compassion in the young boy’s heart.

After this wonderful awe-striking story the students put up a classical dance invoking Lord Ganesha for Beloved Dada’s well being. Then they had bhajan and kirtan session and the special assembly ended with the aarti.

Dr. Mirchandani gave the students Rev. Dada’s message for the day and urged the students to keep giving to those in need. He chanted the Forgiveness Prayer and the children repeated it after him and vowed to chant it also at 2.00 P.M. – The Moment of Calm.

The school children managed to garner 4000+ pledges of forgiveness for ‘The Moment of Calm’.

At the close, the whole school enjoyed chocolate muffins as Prasad for Rev. Dada’s birthday.
