After a long two-year hiatus, the Pune devotees could fulfill their yearning and quench their thirst of having beloved Dada J.P. Vaswani in their midst, celebrating his birthday with them.
Nature came to bless this Child of God, through bright rays of sunshine, breaking though the clouds of the monsoons.
The holy and auspicious day started off with recitation of Sri Jap Sahib and the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra along with lighting of 108 Havans. This was followed by bhog of 101 Paths of Nuri Granth and Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
Mid-morning gave a wonderful glimpse of the ‘Birthday Boy’ as he came to his Master’s Kutiya for kirtan. His short and sweet message was – what doth it profit a man to gain the whole world if he lose his soul.
At the afternoon Satsang, the devout bhajans and kirtan were filled with joy and love. The resounding chant of ‘Dada, Dada’ accompanied him to the stage.
Dada mentioned the wonderful blessings from the Nuri Granth of purity of vision for all. This can be obtained by perceiving the Guru everywhere.
In the day’s Ruh-Rihan Dada continued with the thought of the morning that wealth, fame, etc are of no use without God. This strange and unique gift of the human birth has been given to us by the grace of God.
Our chief duty is to attain God. For this we must share our love with all. An important sign of love is forgiveness. Forgive before forgiveness is asked.
Forgiveness shall be the law of life. Hence, Dada urged that one should regard 2nd August as Forgiveness Day.
Jesus Christ, even while being crucified had asked for forgiveness from the Lord for others.
We should bear no grudge in our heart against another, and we must address all sweetly. So far we have only opened the door of our senses and mind. Now we should open the door of our heart.
All Creation is one. We are merely limbs of the One Body. Dada assured us that God is glued to us. We are the ones putting up the barriers.
To achieve purity of vision, we must –
- Have thirst or longing in our heart.
- Serve others.
- Take shelter at the feet of the Guru.
Then the joyful bells tolled, announcing the birth time of our angel, beloved Dada.
To the time of ‘Tum jiyo hazaaron saal’, Dada proceeded to merrily light the candles and cut the cake.
