On the evening of the 22nd of November, as part of the celebrations for the 130th birthday of Sadhu Vaswani, was the English Talk by Rev. Dada J. P. Vaswani on “What To Do When Difficulties Strike.”
In these trying times, thousands of people made a bee-line in the Mission Campus eagerly looking forward to know the practical solutions to their problems.
The melodious bhajans reflected the longing that each one was experiencing, for divine solace, which they knew would shortly be provided by Rev. Dada.
Mr. Pramod Chaudhari, Chairman of Praj Industries and the Chief Guest of the event, said that he was familiar with the obstructions and predicaments that intercepted the path of life. When difficulties strike, we need the assistance of sages and gurus like Dada J. P. Vaswani for help and guidance. The guru is an umbrella that protects us from the rain showers of difficulties.
The dignitaries who illuminated the talk included the Poonawallas, Ms. Sabina Sanghvi (Head-West of Midday), Dr. K. H. Sancheti & Dr. Parag Sancheti (Founder and Chairman of Sancheti Hospital), Mr. Anand Chordia (Pravin Masalewale Group) and many other eminent industrialists.
There was a short audio-visual show on faith which was very inspiring and set the note for Dada’s talk which was to follow.
A few books were launched at the hands of Mr. Chaudhari, Ms. Maya Shahani and Dr. K. H. Sancheti. The new books included “Saints with a Difference” and “90 Sindhi Recipes”.
Dada’s talk commenced with a prayer, offering his every word at the feet of Lord Krishna. He paid homage to his Master, Sadhu Vaswani, reminiscing that Sadhu Vaswani had a luminosity around him that had the crowds following him. A man of humility, he was the religion of love which taught to serve the poor. Sadhu Vaswani was a sage who rated service higher than ‘mukti’ or emancipation.
Dada urged everyone to refrain from eating flesh, fish or fowl on 25th November. He looked forward to the forming of a Charter of Animal Rights.
He said that though the pathways of life stream with trials and tribulations, the Destroyer of difficulties is not far. These problems are like soiled packages concealing a rich treasure within.
Faith in God leads to many miracles. Faith is not emotionalism or weakness but something that instigates inner growth and strength.
Dada placed before the congregation 5 practical suggestions to cultivate faith –
- Let go, let go, let God. Let go of petty irritations, frustrations and anger. Let God, with his wisdom and mercy solve your problem.
- Always expect the best, but be prepared for the worst. Be optimistic and positive. An optimist lives longer and healthier.
- Keep moving, get on with your work, doing the best you can and leave the rest.
- Learn to take risk – but only calculated ones for nothing ventured is nothing gained.
- With God everything is possible. God as a parent is not feared.
Faith seems to overcome even the law of Nature. It imparts strength to the body, mind and soul. God is the source of infinite energy. We must keep in mind two principles that we are nothing; that He who is within us is more powerful than that which is outside of us.
Dada ended his talk with the prayer that we take up at least one of the practical suggestions and bear witness to it in daily living. Now the crowd leaving the hall was at peace for they no longer had to wonder about what to do when difficulties arise.
