EYE CAMP 2010: In January 2010, we began the annual fundraising drive called the "Gift for Sight" (JYOT SHEVA). Under this program, we are collecting funds for eye cataract surgeries for those who cannot afford this simple operation. By providing a needy person with JYOT, he/she can see the world & thank GOD for its beauty. It costs $60 per operation. The drive ends on March 17th (Chetichand- the Sindhi New Year). The money collected will be sent to the K. K. Eye Institute, (operated by The Sadhu Vaswani Mission Pune, India) where the surgeries will be performed. We humbly ask for your support to fund this worthy cause. Please see the newsletter from the eye institute enclosed and the form below for details:

Inlaks & Budhrani Hospital’s Pivotal Role in Treating Disaster Victims of the Bomb Blast at German Bakery

The tragedy that hit around 7:00 pm on 13th Feb 2010 at German Bakery is less than 1 km from the Inlaks and Budhrani Hospital, part of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission’s Medical Complex at Koregaon Park, Pune. The hospital started receiving the injured within 10 minutes of the tragedy despite traffic jams near the Koregaon Park area. The OPD Section took in all the patients, immediately attending to them with no documents or questions asked. While the patients were being taken in, the calls had already gone out from the GM, Mr. Sunder Vaswani, to their doctors and nurses.
The Resident Doctors, Nurses, Nursing Superintendents & Nursing students of its associated wing, Sadhu Vaswani College of Nursing, who were staying on the campus immediately converged at the Casualty and the ICU. Without delay they started rendering First Aid and medical help to the injured. The serious ones were rushed to the ICU.
The whole team of the hospital that comprised of Senior Consultants, Neuro Surgeon, General Surgeon, Orthopedic Surgeon, Cardio-Thoracic Surgeon, Plastic Surgeon, Onco Surgeon, Physicians, Urologist, Dermatologist, Anesthetists, ICU Consultants and Radiologists were soon upon the scene to give their complete support and try and save as many lives as possible.

At the Fabiani & Budhrani Heart Institute, Koregaon Park, Pune patients underwent free permanent pacemaker implantation on occasion of the Care & Share Day on February 2, 2010 – the day associated with Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani undergoing the pacemaker implantation himself in 2007. This day is celebrated annually by Sadhu Vaswani Mission and Fabiani & Budhrani Heart Institute, a part of Sadhu Vaswani Mission Medical
The Cath Lab team headed by Dr. Manohar Sakhare, Interventional Cardiologist, performed the pacemaker implantation on 6 deserving cases of needy patients who are were not able to support the cost of the operation and hence are compelled to live with the ailment.
