“I am a vegetarian. What about you?” - The Secondary School voices at Sadhu Vaswani’s 130th Birthday Celebration
In the sanctifying presence of Rev. Dada J. P. Vaswani, 1162 students of the St. Mira’s school took the pledge of vegetarianism on November 19, 2009 as St. Mira’s Secondary School lives up to the teaching of Sadhu Vaswani, “Feed Animals and Never Feed on Them”. St. Mira’s is a school that works on the principles of Ahimsa by practising no corporeal punishment on the students.

The Sadhu Vaswani College of Nursing continues the solemn tradition of old - The Lamp Lighting Ceremony – that symbolizes the passing of knowledge and igniting the souls of the budding nurses with the ideals of compassion and care. It is held every year at SVCON for the new batch of first year students who are essentially being initiated into the field of nursing.
The Primary Schools of Sadhu Vaswani Mission Celebrate Sadhu Vaswani’s 130th Birthday by Taking Pledges of Vegetarianism
The little ones of Play n Learn, Shanti Vidya Mandir and St. Mira’s Primary Primary School of Pune gathered together to celebrate Sadhu Vaswani’s 130th birthday celebrations on 17 November, 2009 in the Mission Campus.
It was but natural that this auspicious day, 25th November, the 130th birthday of Sadhu Vaswani, commenced with service of birds and animals. Several volunteers, went out in vans as a medical camp to feed and serve the animals.
Vegetarian Food Festival at Pune
There was no better way to pay homage to the great Master, Sadhu Vaswani on his 130th birthday, than to propagate his message of stopping all slaughter. The venue of the Vegetarian Food Festival was the Amphitheatre grounds of Poona Club on 24th November 2009 and the turnout was very impressive and encouraging.

Sadhu Vaswani’s birthday was the most appropriate day to personalise and bring in to life the incidents and teachings of his life. Dada Leela, conducted in connection with the birthday celebrations of the Master on 24th November 2009 in the Mission Campus served to propagate his message not to kill but to love.

Sadhu Vaswani’s Rath Yatra - Nov 23, 2009
The ‘Rath Yatra’, in honour of Sadhu Vaswani’s 130th birthday, left the Sadhu Vaswani Mission at around 5:00 pm on 23rd November. This is an annual pilgrim-procession since 1966, providing an opportunity for the denizens of Pune to pay homage to a great soul, Sadhu Vaswani, and for all of them and their homes to receive his benedictions.
