“I am deeply saddened to hear of the spread of the H1N1 virus in our country. I offer my condolences to everyone who has lost a loved one in this outbreak.

But what saddens me even more deeply is the climate of panic, nay, paranoia, around us. It is high time we put a stop to this fear psychosis.

I am sure you can check the statistics out – but we all know that every day, thousands of people including women and small children die in this country due to various causes ranging from road accidents to malnutrition and hunger. Hundreds more die due to cancer, cardiac diseases and other incurable ailments. Of course, these deaths are tragic, and if they are avoidable, we should have saved at least some of them. But most of us take these deaths as mere statistics!

They are now calling our city Pune, the ‘epicenter’ of the swine flu, the ‘swine flu capital’ of India now. Not long ago, I heard people say that India was sitting on an HIV (AIDS) bomb that was about to explode! Most of us can recall the Plague that hit Surat some years ago, and all the panic that was caused then.

This country has survived famines, floods, droughts, earthquakes, tsunami and several epidemics like cholera, malaria and small pox. We will surely survive this crisis too!

Janmashtami Report

News Comments Off

Janmashtami is a day of joy and jubilation, for it heralds the birth of Lord Krishna – the Beloved of millions.

Let us welcome His presence with enthusiasm in our hearts. Then, the peace that will pervade within us will enable us to leave everything to Him.

God has promised us that He will come to us again and again. Hs constant re-incarnation is in the quality of Love. Lord Krishna is the icon of Love and dear Dada epitomizes Love. Thus, we can seek Krishna in Dada.

Without Love we lead deprived lives. Love is the greatest need of the hour. Let us seek this Love in Lord Krishna and in our beloved Dada and then share it with al those around us.

The Janmashtami, at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission was celebrated with Kirtans and bhajans of Krishna and Radha, from morn till night, at various locales of the Campus. The holy ripples thus created, pervaded the entire environment, enabling all those who visited the mission, to immerse themselves in a soothing and enriching dip.

J.P. VASWANI

Sadhu Vaswani Mission

Pune – 411 001, (India).

August 13, 2009

5000 years ago, He came.  Sri Krishna came with bewitching beauty.  He came with a matchless music of the flute.  His songs continue to be our richest treasure.  I have often meditated on the sloka of the Bhagawad Gita:  “Sarva Dharman Parityaja…….”
“ Renouncing all rites and writ duties, come unto Me for single refuge and I shall liberate you from all bondage to sin and suffering.  Of this have no doubt!”  What a tremendous promise of the Lord to each one of us!  Our lives are steeped in sin.  All we have to do is to seek refuge, surrender ourselves to Him.  He will take on Himself the load of our lovelessness through the centuries.  Such is the mercy of the Ever-Merciful One!  Where else can we get a Master and a Lord like Him?

Love.
Afftly.,
Dada
