Celebration by the St. Mira's College for Girls held on 17-11-2004 at the College Sanctuary Hall.

The students of the St. Mira’s College for Girls celebrated their Founder Sadhu Vaswani’s Birthday on 17 th November,2004 at the Sanctuary Hall of the College. An important item of the programme was an interactive Question & Answer session with Revered Dada J.P.Vaswani.
Q-1 : Dada, whenever we see you, your face is always glowing. What is the secret?
Dada : (Laughs) Your face glows in the measure in which your interior self glows in purity and prayer. The purer you become the more your face glows. We look clean outside, but within there are vicars of greed, lust, egoism evil thoughts. Thoughts are things. Thoughts are the ink with which you write. Therefore take care of your thoughts. Your faith and destiny are built by you. You are the makers of your destiny and the beginning is in the thought. Thought if lead in the mind consistently, will lead you there. Thoughts lead to action and action repeated again and again forms habit. The sum total of habits determine your character and it is the character that builds your destiny. Take care of your thoughts. If you practice this your face will glow. It will acquire the radiance of the Sun and the Moon.
Q-2 What attracted you to come close to Sadhu Vaswani ?
Dada: HIS LOVE. The three words that describe Sadhu Vaswani are “ Ocean of Love”. He was an ocean in which you could take dips and still not get drowned. I had a dream of doing ICS and becoming a Collector, but when I was in my 2 nd year of college I felt pulled towards Sadhu Vaswani and decided I will not be a Collector but will collect the dust of Sadhu Vaswani’s feet.
Q-3 What is the importance of a Guru in an aspirants life?
Dada: The importance of a Guru is the same as that of a teacher in the life of a student. Otherwise you will not understand the intricacies of the subject. In the spiritual life we are moving on a path which is the inner path and not something that you can see. Therefore you need a Guru who guides you through the pitfalls. The greatest thing that the Guru does is that he rids / frees you from the influence of the ego, which you cannot do yourself.
Q-4 What is the difference between renunciation(Tyaga) and non-attachment(varagya)?
Dada: True renunciation is the renunciation of the desires. The person accepts the will of God. He seeks nothing, desires nothing, claims nothing. This is true renunciation/tyaga. Wearing the Saffron Robe is a mark of renunciation. If you wear the Saffron Robe and still desire things, you are not a tyagi.
Q-5 How is Gyan different from Bhakti?
Dada: It is different in many ways. Because Gyan is thirst for knowledge. Bhakti is the thirst for surrender. The cry of a Bhakt is :- “I come to you as I am, with my faults and failings, my misgivings, my mistakes. ‘Hari mein jaiso taiso tero’. Lord make me, mould me, shape me, so that you are not ashamed of me.”
But a Gyani want to know more, he will argue, meditate, reflect on what is being taught. Whereas a Bhakt says, I will be a servant.
