SPORTS DAY

Play N Learn Centre and Shanti Vidya Mandir’s Annual Sports Meet for the year 2005-2006 was held on Wednesday 14th December,2005 at St. Mira’s ground with a total participation of 448 students.

The chosen theme as per the current trend was very innovative – a blend of advertisement of nutritional products with sports.  Such ads have never been live, they are usually in the form of billboards or seen in motion on TV screens or any other  related medium.  This novel concept had the desired effect.

Prominent performances included :-

Nursery Races :

1. How about a big bite – Let’s go for the Munch bite.  Nursery “A” munched all their way.
2. School timings are from 9 am to 12 noon, but here the tiny tots of Nursery “B” would like to have it 9 to 9 where they would like their hair to shine. (Sunsilk shampoo)
3. Kurkure – Kya family hai

      Nursery “C” yeh kehta hai kurkure khao Mast ho jao – kya family hai.

1. Zandu ka Kesari Jeevan yehi hai hamara Slogan .. khao khao, aur khao, jeevan ko tandurust banao – said Nursery “D”

Junior KG races :

• Bunty aur Babli, Bunty aur Babli - What’s this?

The act from the popular film Bunty aur Babli where they dress each other with a cap and a scarf running to the winning post had the audience in splits.

• Dabur Honey – Fit & Fine

Toast & Honey is all mine, lets finish it fast and run to the winning line.  Children enjoy Dabur honey in any way but this time they had it on toast which was so yummy that the parent’s mouths were watering.

Senior KG Races :

• Mummy mujhe bhookh lagi hai -  Bus do minute

Next comes the Maggie Noodle Race.  Mummy ley ayegi hamare liye Maggie Noodles in everyway.  Taste bhi hai, health bhi hai.  Not forgetting the table manners children enjoyed the Maggie Noodles.

• Winter  season brings along lotions and beautiful songs – children took care of their skin by using Ponds Winter care and the grandmothers were supposed to feel their skin and say ‘googly-woogly wosh’ (Ponds winter care)

• Then came the drills by the bouncing Cadbury’s Dairy Milk – by the Jr.KGs.  Kya swadhai yeh zindagi.

• Next the ground which changed into a field of sunflowers. It was a wonderful sight for every eye.  Every sunflower rose to the rising sun spreading the message of beauty, colour and nutritious value of Healthy minds of Healthy people.(Ad Sundrop Oil)

• Last but not the least.  Our Chief Guest Dr.Parag Sancheti (Orthopaedic Surgeon) and Mrs. Archana Sancheti enjoyed the lovely morning and requested Mam (Mrs. Nimbalkar) to open a school for boys as he has twins and would love his children  to come to St. Mira’s.  Doctor said that he has been associated with Dadaji and gains inspiration from him.  Doctor Sancheti envied us for being close to Dada, who is the guiding force for every activity held on the campus.
