Sadhu Vaswani’s 126th Birthday Celebrations
Rath Yatra 23rd Nov 2005

The gaily festooned streets of Pune joyfully reflected the celebration of thousands of participants in the Rath Yatra for Sadhu Vaswani’s 126th Birth Anniversary. The wider, newly-paved streets gave a clearer overview of the beauty of the procession. The bright colors and the twinkling lights were enhanced by the presence of numerous representatives of various communities and religions who joined in with Dada J.P.Vaswani in this Rath Yatra, thus paying homage to the great saint of modern times – Sadhu Vaswani.

Amidst brightly burning candles, flowers and balloons in front of Sadhu Vaswani’s statue and photograph, Dada, along with multitudes of followers, singing devotional songs, commenced this Yatra from the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, walking with bare feet on the streets of Pune.

The route followed was:
Sadhu Vaswani Mission; Ashram/Sadhu Vaswani Chowk; Parmar Trade Centre; Poona Club/Konark Estate; Dastur School; Iskcon; M.G.Road; East Street; West End Theatre; Shastri Apartments; Sadhu Vaswani Kunj; Shanti Kunj; Prem Kutir; Sadhu Vaswani Mission.

Dada halted at two places, where he reiterated his plea to all, to never forget God, making Him an inseparable part of our day-to-day lives. He also prayed for love and mercy for animals to be ignited in each and every heart.

The slogans “Dada Amar Rahe”; “Bhakri Khao Bakri Nahin”, and songs like “Vishwa Shanti Ke Liye, Chale Hain Shanti Marg Par” – filled each one with ebullience and enthusiasm, the epitome of which was Dada J.P.Vaswani himself, while pulling his Master’s Rath.

The hordes of spectators lining both sides of the streets encouraged those in the procession by joining in the songs and slogans, and offering drinking water and prasad. Such devotion, caring and unity was most appropriate as offerings to such a great soul.
