Remembering
Dadi Sati

Remembering
the Wonderful Soul
- Dadi Sati Bhagomal Thadani

In the memory of Dadi Sati a three day prayer
meeting was organized at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission. May 29,
2004 saw the aarambh of the Akhand Path of the Noori Granth.
May 30, 2004 Dada J. P. Vaswani while praying
his tributes to the Dadi Sati said that she was a picture
of simplicity, devotion and dedication. Her simplicity could
be seen in her daily living – her clothes, food habits etc.
She was a loving person who had many friends not only in India
, but also overseas. She was ready to serve Sadhu Vaswani
doing anything he asked for, at any time. Dada too felt that
here was a noble, wonderful and a selfless soul, whose services
he could rely fully on.
Knowing of her devotion to Sadhu Vaswani, Dada Bhagomal
Thadani (Dadi Sati's father) left her at the lotus feet of
Dada at the tender age of 18. When Dada came to know that
she was not even a matriculate, he encouraged her to complete
her matriculation.
At the inception of the Mira Education Movement
Sadhu Vaswani felt that Dadi Sati was the right person for
the post of the principal of the school. When the need for
a teacher arose at the Mira School Dadi Sati obliged. She
was the Editor of “Shyam” the first “Patrika” (publication)
in Sindhi by the Sadhu Vaswani Mission.
Despite her very busy schedule, Dadi Sati would
personally deliver the patrika to the doors of all the Sindhi
families living around. She strongly believed that it was
very important to reach Sadhu Vaswani's spiritual teachings
to all the possible Sindhis, as Sadhu
Vaswani's teachings were the most precious jewels.
What
Dadi Sati truly believed in can be summed up as follows :
- Let
us work in the spirit of God
- Accept
whatever we go through in life as a “prasad” from God.
- Not
a single day in one's life should pass without helping others.
Dada's speech on Dadi Sati was followed by Kirtan
and langar (fellowship meals) attended by a large number of
devotees at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission.
The three day programme ended on May 31, 2004
with the Bhog of the Akhand Path.
