Giving Week
The
Sadhu Vaswani Mission 18 Feb - 24 Feb 2005
(Day
1)
Hearts
overflowing with gratitude to the Lord for the continued healthy
physical presence of their Guru, Dada J.P. Vaswani, devotees
congregated at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission for this Thanksgiving
Week.
The
Programme commenced at Sadhu Vaswani's sacred Samadhi since
6:30 a.m. with recitations from the Holy Scriptures and chanting
of the Gayatri Mantra. There was kindling of the lamp accompanied
by recitations from world Scriptures throughout the day.
Daily
feeding of the poor, disabled, orphans will take place from
18 th Feb. to 24 th Feb. 2005.
Free
diagnostic camps have been set up at the Shanti Clinic and
other neighbouring villages of Pune and Khandala.
Free
bypass surgeries will also be performed.
This
evening was the “ Bal Mela” or the fun-filled fair, especially
set up for the hundreds of handicapped children. Inmates from
the following institutions – Apang Kalayan Kari Sawinsth,
Jeevan Jyot Mandal, Bader Mukh Shikshan Kendra, C.R. Ranganath
School for Deaf, Adhar Deaf and Dumb School , Pimpri Chinchwad
Apang Mitra Mandal and several others participated.
The
children were entertained by skits and dance items and uplifted
by kirtan and bhajans. The well known ophthalmologist Dr.
Kelkar was presented a memento for his services in the field
of healing.
With
moist eyes Dr. Kelkar very humbly uttered the following words
– “I merely aid physical vision, but we are fortunate to have
a Guru like Dada J.P. Vaswani in our midst who lights up our
souls and guides us in our lives. Dr. Kelkar said that he
would willingly assist the Sadhu Vaswani Mission in all their
endeavours.
Joy
and hope was kindled in the eyes of the children by Dada J.P.
Vaswani's message.
We
are not handicapped, we are but pure and perfect souls, just
like everyone else.
Dada
presented each child with a hamper full of goodies like tiffin
box, water bottle, oil, soap, napkin, etc. along with coupons
which enabled them to gorge on the delicious snacks at the
15 stalls put up for them – like pani-puri, bhel, dosa and
so on. The icing on the cake was a special display of colourful
fire crackers for the children. Their blissful expressions
as they left the Mission grounds was a wonderful “thank-you”
to the Almighty for His Benedictions.
The
highlights of this Thanksgiving week are the public lectures
by Dada J.P. Vaswani at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission
in Hindi on Sunday, February 20, 2005 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m.
in Sindhi on Thursday, February 24, 2005 from 6:00p.m. to
8:00p.m.
All
are welcome and requested to attend.
