Amisdst the celebrations for Dada J.P. Vaswani's 87th birthday, the devastation caused in Pune and all over Maharashtra by the heavy rains, made everyone pause and touched the hearts of all at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission.

Since early morning till 1 p.m. , there have been very special prayers – the incessant singing of the Mahamantra – “Hare Rama….. Hare Krishna……”

Further prayers will be conducted tomorrow, August 2, Dada's birthday, from 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. , thus entreating the Lord to provide a Divine shield of protection for everyone. After this will be Langar (fellowship meals) at 2.00 p.m. for which each and every denizen of Pune has been invited to participate in. All are welcome.

Revered Dada sent a team to survey and get a first hand report of the town of Pimpri , which has been severely hit. Kits were prepared of the following items which were required and purchased – food for 10 days, clothes, bedding, etc. The estimated cost approximating Rs. 16 lakhs. Almost 500 families were identified and distribution efficiently took place on July 30, 2005 , earning tremendous joy, relief and gratitude.
