Open Question Answer Session With
Dada
An
Open Question & Answer Session between the youth
and
Dada J. P. Vaswani at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission Campus
on
Saturday, the 29 th of May, 2004
between
6.30 pm and 8.30 pm
Youth comprise the highest percentage of our
population and it is they who lack direction the most. In
order to help solve this problem the Sadhu Vaswani Mission
has come up with the idea of an Open Question & Answer
Session between the youth and a learned person like Dada J.
P. Vaswani. Rightly so, the enthused youth group who facilitate
this programme have been named "Bridge Builders".
In a serene atmosphere full of reverence
at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission hall (located at 10 Sadhu Vaswani
Path), youngsters from all walks of life eagerly gathered
to interact with Dada J. P. Vaswani whose wisdom, simplicity,
experience and radiance is unmatched.
It was an enlightening session for all as Dada
Vaswani not only had answers to a vast range of questions
put to him, but he also explained the meaning of his answers
supporting them by anecdotes. When asked to differentiate
between "Compromise" and "Sacrifice", his simple and prompt
answer was " if we compromise we don't sacrifice and if we
sacrifice we don't compromise".
Another question was about Dada's belief
in astrological predictions.
Dada
responded by saying that there is nothing wrong in having
faith in astrological predictions, but not all astrologers
are genuine. The power to mould one's future lies in one's
own hands. Having faith in yourself and keeping on doing good
endlessness without expecting the same of others ensures a
bright future.
The next question had Dada smiling for a moment.
It was from a newly married lady who felt that after a year
of marriage love fades away and spouses start taking each
other for granted. After a brief thought Dada replied that
keeping love afresh is the secret of a happy married life.
Understanding and caring for your spouse is important. Expressing
love in different ways brings in the aspect of freshness into
it. Unfortunately the feeling of closeness is lacking in our
society. We no longer live in "homes", we live in "houses".
In the last phase of the programme Dada Vaswani
shared a few jokes with the audience. Dada said that once
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru mentioned that he enjoyed sitting
in the lap of a female other than his wife. Looking at the
baffled faces Pandit Nehru elaborated that that female was
none other than his father's wife.
After all - Laughter is the best medicine. All
in all an enlightening evening, ending with an Aarti aptly
filled in by bhajans, kirtans & holy recitations from
time to time.
