Janmashtami Celebrations - 27th August 2005
The Gokulashtami Celebration was organised at the St. Mira's English Medium Secondary School ground.

The day was bright and sunny. The school children were all excited to have Beloved Dada in their midst. A few children came forward and dressed up Beloved Dada as Lord Sri Krishna with a flute in his hand.

They also wanted to wear him a crown, which Beloved Dada humbly refused and requested them to put the crown on Beloved Sadhu Vaswani's picture.

After dressing up Dada as Lord Krishna, the children made a pyramid and broke the matki of curd and sweets, which was hung high up.

Beloved Dada was delighted to watch the beautiful children perform all these acts and said that this year it is the first time that the celebrations are so beautiful, thanks to the dedicated Principals of both the Schools.

He also added that the whole place looked like mini-Brindavan. He said that as he was sitting and watching the children breaking the Matki, he was asking himself what is the special message for today?

The message, he said, is in these two words: "Matki Phoro!" "Break the attachment to the body!" Again and again Dada reminded us that we are not the bodies that we wear, we are immortal souls.

Then, he asked what is the message of Gokulashtami day, and in answer he said: "Play the flute!" And saying so he started playing beautifully on the flute!!!

The programme ended with performing the aarti of Mother cows.
