HEALTH SCREENINGS BY THE ENGLEWOOD HOSPITAL & MEDICAL
CENTER
THANKSGIVING
CELEBRATIONS IN FEBRUARY!
The
Sadhu Vaswani Center of Closter, NJ, has teamed with The Englewood
Hospital to provide free blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol
tests for residents of the tri-state area. The event will
take place on Sunday, February 20, 2005 , between 11 am and
3 pm at the Sadhu Vaswani Center , 494 Durie Ave. , off Closter
Dock Road , Closter , NJ 07624 .
The
Sadhu Vaswani Center is a non-profit charitable organization
that is a branch of India based Sadhu Vaswani Mission. The
Mission , headed by world renowned philosopher and thinker,
Dada J.P. Vaswani, is dedicated to the ideals of Universal
Love: Love of God and of all Creation. It runs various clinics,
hospitals, schools and permanent shelters all over India .
Most recently, the Mission has set up vast relief operations
for victims of the Tsunami disaster in the state of Tamil
Nadu, India . The International Centers of the Mission engage
in works of charity within their own communities, bringing
help and healing to the disabled, the helpless, the poor and
the sick, as well as providing food and shelter for birds
and animals.
The
health fair is part of a series of week long events planned
at the Center in celebration of “Thanksgiving Week” from February
18 th to the 24 th . The Chairman of the Center, Englewood,
NJ, resident Mr. Eddie Datwani, explained that the Center
celebrates this week every year as an offering of thanks to
the Lord for all his mercies and to pray for the well being
of the community as well as the Mission 's head, Dada Vaswani.
He added, “We are extremely grateful to the Englewood Hospital
and its professional staff who have time and again coordinated
public service occasions with us in a spirit of dedication
and tender care.” Among the other activities planned for the
week is daily feeding of birds, neutering and medical checks
for stray dogs and cats in the New Jersey townships of Secaucus
and Jersey City, service of food and warm clothing to homeless
shelters in the tri-state area, and, care of the elderly at
nursing homes such as The Inglemoor located in Englewood,
NJ.

attending the health screenings are welcome to visit the serene
shrine located on the second floor of the Center, browse the
book stall for the vast collection of literature on Universal
Love and the Art of Living, and, participate in the fellowship
Indian vegetarian meals to be served at no charge between
the hours of 1 pm to 2 pm on Sunday.
