PRESS RELEASE
5th November,2005
Words are weak, words are pale and inadequate to describe the intensity of emotion the prisoners of the Yeravada Central Prison experienced when Dada referred to them as fellow-prisoners. “Not only You,” Rev. Dada J P Vaswani exclaimed “but each and everyone of us is a prisoner. Prisoners of desires are we all, alas we know not of our bondage.”
Dada cited various examples from history showing how thieves were converted into true children of God, sinners to saints. No one is doomed to eternal hell! There is hope for each and everyone of us! If only we repent with a true heart, start afresh with faith and fortitude and make the right choices, we can build for ourselves a glorious future.
Dada’s talk was received with thunderous applause. There were tears in the eyes of some of the prisoners when Dada went and sat amidst them, sang bhajans and kirtans and distributed snacks. The prisoners felt so privileged to be blessed by a saint, to be able to draw close to a man of God and to receive blessings from his holy hands. Dada hugged many of the prisoners who flocked to fall at his feet to receive his Grace. Each prisoner received a book written by Dada J P Vaswani. Indeed it was a memorable morning!
The Jailer, Mr. Damne greeted Dada and said that in the history of Pune it was a rare occasion that the Yeravada Central Prison was blessed by a Saint of God. “Fortunate indeed are these prisoners”, he added “to receive the blessings of a holy man.”
The entire campus of the Yeravada Central Prison was enveloped by Dada’s magnetism and charged with the powerful vibrations of love. |
