Dada
J. P. Vaswani's public talk in English at the Sadhu Vaswani
Mission on the eve of his 87th birthday
Dada
J. P. Vaswani, while addressing the thousands who had come
to soak in his wo r ds, brought relief to
them from the floods – the flood of tears caused by irritation,
annoyance and unhappiness. All those, thus drenched and drowning,
were rescued and resuscitated by the warmth, encouragement
and hope created by his words.
The
Vice-Chancellor of the University of Pune , Dr. Ashok Kolaskar
and the Vice-Chancellor of Symbiosis Deemed University, Dr.
Tutakme, inaugurated the new publications by Dada J. P. Vaswani
–
10 Commandments of a Successful Marriage
The Art of Forgiveness
The Positive Power of Thanksgiving
Secrets of Health and Happiness
Sadhu Vaswani – Unka Jeevan aur Shikshayen
Bhakton Ke Uljanon Ke Saral Upaye
Each
one feels that the other person is happy, whereas they are
not. A dying father passed on the only legacy to his four
sons – four rules for happiness and peace of mind.
1.
Don't worry about what others say. Seek only to please God,
not men.
2.
Take serious things lightly and light things seriously. It
is the little things that count – like the grains of sand
forming the seashore, the little drops of water, the ocean.
3.
Laugh as much as you can. The tragedy of man is that he does
not laugh enough – laughter is a mental, physical and spiritual
tonic.
4.
Do your very best and accept the result as a will of God;
for He is too loving to punish anyone and too wise to make
a mistake.
To
facilitate matters, Dada put forth 10 practical suggestions
to overcome annoyance and irritation –
1.
Believe in the Higher Power watching you and giving you strength.
2.
Be always relaxed in body and mind. We should do our duty,
speak lovingly and sweetly, but should avoid overwork as it
makes us tense. So take it easy, but don't be lazy.
3.
Never neglect to keep your daily appointment with God. It
helps us to plumb the depths of that pint of peace within
us.
4.
Always see the bright side of things. Be an optimist.
5.
Count your blessings.
6.
Keep busy, preferably in doing something creative all the
time.
7.
Smile, smile all the while. Be like a child. Never hold on
to any grudge.
8.
Be relaxed. Follow this technique -
a.
Relax briefly
b.
Then breathe in all your annoyances and irritations and of
all those around you. Breathe out relief and peace.
9.
Keep on reminding yourself – God is the Controller of the
destinies of individuals and nations so nothing can go wrong,
even though it may appear to do so. This world is not a pleasure
ground, but a university, where bitter experiences teach us
invaluable lessons.
This
acceptance of that which cannot be changed, saves precious
emotional energy.
10.
Thank God for everything that happens. This builds a ladder
of consciousness which enables one to reach the pinnacle of
peace.
Dada
charged the large crowd with such tremendous courage, that
even in the midst of worry and anxiety, depression and unhappiness
caused by all the current events, in one voice thunderously
and confidently the words “Thank-you God” and “Praise the
Lord” were uttered echoing throughout the Campus.
On
August 1 there is a Sindhi Food Festival from 7.00 p.m. onwards.
On
August 2 there will be Dada's talk from 1.00 p.m. followed
by langar (fellowship meals).
