In Sadhu Vaswani's words “For me not to love
bird and animal would be not to love the Lord”.
Sadhu Vaswani believed that all life is sacred
and that birds and animals are man's younger brothers and
sisters in the one family of creation.

At one corner of the ashram pigeons peck at the
sea of golden grain, reflecting the Mission 's philosophy
of reverence for life. This daily feeding of birds is done
twice a day at 6.30 a.m. immediately after the Satsang and
again at 12.30 p.m.
In Mumbai , just a few days ago, Dada while taking
his evening walk came across a pigeon pacing up & down
the parapet, too weak & scared to fly. The helpless bird
caught the attention of Dada and the bird was immediately
carried and brought into the flat of Dada's hosts - Shobha
& Chandru Budhrani . The bird was made comfortable in
a covered balcony and was fed with bird grain, water etc.
Two days later after gaining strength from such tender and
loving care the bird flew to join it's brethren.
Had it not been for the immediate action &
compassion of Dada, the bird would have become an easy prey
of a cat or any other large bird. Thus a friend in need is
a friend in deed.
